Doula Services – $50/hour
Services are customized for your individual situation and are offered on an hourly rate. The rate for multiples may higher. Please contact for custom pricing.
Daytime Doula Hours: (8 am – 10 pm) 4 hours minimum
Nighttime Hours: (10 pm – 8 am) 8 hours minimum
All prices subject to HST

What is the difference between a postpartum doula and the public health nurse?
The doula has a scope of practice that encompasses non-clinical support for the new mother and family. The Public Health nurse will make one visit postnatal (upon request) to check on the health of the baby and make sure that you are doing well. They can be extremely helpful if you or baby have special medical needs. However, doulas are there to meet the practical everyday needs of the family.
Before hiring a support person, make a list of what kind of care and attention you think you may need, (i.e. newborn care, laundry, meal prep, sibling care…) and find the right support for you.
What kind of breastfeeding support can I expect?
A good portion of doula training is breastfeeding support. You can expect assistance with proper latch, nursing positions, burping positions, and information on many other breastfeeding difficulties. It has been researched and proven that by having a doula support you, breastfeeding success comes much easier. If for some reason you need extra support, she will have a list of local resources to help.
Can a doula help with a special needs baby?
Parents of a baby with special needs often require both medical and practical support. A doula can offer practical help with tasks that do not require a nurse’s assistance. Special needs children often qualify for subsidised care which could be used towards doula support. At My Baby Bump we have doulas with several years of experience in the field of special needs. How long will I need a postpartum doula?
The duration of postpartum support will be your decision. Often it will depend on your particular needs and finances. Some families have a postpartum doula for only a week while others for six months and beyond. The choice is yours.
